GRAP 103 season has started, and is already in full swing as museums, libraries, archives, and galleries rush to meet the deadlines for financial reporting at the end of this financial year. We are offering a range of support to help your institution prepare and to improve your GRAP 103 readiness.
We are pleased to announce our schedule of courses to be run from September to November 2015.
We are running workshops on SPECTRUM, Digitisation, Database Development, Web Development, Storage Management, and Project Management during this period, and we will be running these at our own ETHER Training Centre in the Central Drakensberg as well as in Cape Town, Durban, and Johannesburg.

The ETHER Initiative has collaborated with Dr Estelle Liebenberg-Barkhuizen of the Alan Paton Centre to bring to you an exciting workshops on Photograph and film preservation. This workshop, which is created and presented by Estelle, is a one-day intensive and insightful course that deals with all the theory, methods and practices you need when dealing with the preservation of photographs and film. You will learn all the reasons why photographs and film deteriorate and fade, and what are the best ways to prevent this. This includes policies, risk and security, storage and the ideal atmosphere, as well as handling techniques and digitisation.

Project Management for Heritage Institutions:
A workshop created by Roger Layton.
This workshop concerns optimal project management methods and how these can be used to improve the management and operations of heritage organisations. Managing projects required a wide range of skills and tasks to ensure success in the projects. This workshop introduces the concepts of best-practice project management in way that you can apply these immediately in your own environment on small to medium-sized projects.
